The Law Center P.C. - Marine Veterans Advocating for Victims of Camp Lejeune Water Contamination

The Law Center P.C., with attorney, and Marine veteran, Jason Wareham, is dedicated to fighting for the rights of those affected by the water contamination at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. This environmental and public health disaster may have affected more than one million people between 1953 and 1987, with hazardous chemicals linked to a range of serious health conditions. The Camp Lejeune Justice Act now allows victims to seek compensation for their suffering.

Camp Lejeune Water Contamination History

For 34 years, Camp Lejeune's water supply was contaminated with volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from leaking underground storage tanks, industrial spills, improper waste disposal, and solvents from a nearby dry cleaner. The contamination affected base housing, training facilities, and the adjacent Marine Corps Air Station New River. Individuals who served, lived, or worked at these locations during the contamination period may have been exposed to dangerous chemicals linked to serious illnesses.

Camp Lejeune Justice Act

The Camp Lejeune Justice Act, passed as part of the PACT Act on August 10th, 2022, grants those who served, lived, or worked at Camp Lejeune or the Marine Corps Air Station New River from 1953-1987 the ability to file lawsuits against the federal government for full and fair compensation. This legislation acknowledges the suffering of countless men and women who experienced toxic exposure while serving their country.

Health Issues and Compensation under the Camp Lejeune Justice Act

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease (ATSDR) has studied the water contamination at Camp Lejeune and its related health effects. It is well established that frequent or large exposures to pollutant VOCs in drinking water are linked to several serious health conditions, including:

Bladder cancer

Lung cancer
